RPA Plans Educational Meeting

The Reusable Packaging Association in cooperation with StopWaste.Org, will present its annual educational forum. Set for September 24-25 in Oakland, Calif., the focus will be the economic and environmental benefits of reusable packaging. The target audience is top managers, executives, and other decision-makers who have either converted to reusable packaging systems or are interested in finding out more about the value of these systems.
Session topics include the following:
• Fred Heptinstall of IFCO Systems will speak on reusable trends.
• Commissioner Victoria Reinhardt will talk about the reusable packaging programs spearheaded by the Twin Cities government.
• Bill Franklin and Beverly Sauer of Franklin Associates will review the science of measuring sustainability – a primer on life cycle inventories for business practices.
• Overview of how the EPA supports sustainability initiatives.
• Analysis of how reusable packaging is measured by Dr. Diana Twede of Michigan State University.
• Case study looking at how John Deere uses sustainability to drive improved economic performance.
